The Slot Car Racing Club of New York
started around 2000 with the idea of a place to have a weekly slot car racing meeting.Well, in truth it seemed to be very difficult to find local slot racing enthusiasts... in New York City!
Anyways, we kept it going with about 4 or 5 regular members. Sometimes we would have visitor guests that read about the club on the internet slot car forums (mostly on Slot Car Illustrated at the time). They came from Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsilvania,and from Europe- Norway and Italy!
We started racing on Carrera plastic track, but soon later I started building a 4- lane wood routed track.
here is a picture of the track, in the testing stages,with computer laptiming software(there was no scenery or 'decorations' yet).
